Digital SLR Camera Buyer Advice

When buying a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) for the first time one can be overwhelmed by the amount of choices available.

A DSLR is far superior in producing higher quality photographs than a high end compact camera. One of the reasons is that the sensor built into a DSLR is larger in comparison to a Compact Camera. Likewise a Compact Camera produces superior Photographs compared to a Camera Phone. At the end of the day sensor size matters!

The first thing to decide before buying a DSLR is how much you plan on spending. Afterwards you must decide on how many items you plan on buying for your DSLR.
Some of the items to consider for a DSLR are lenses, flashgun, tripod, cases/bag, memory, filters, photo editing software, book/s.

There are many brands of DSLR to name but a few Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus, Pentax, Panasonic. Popularity does not necessarily translate into quality. Possibly the least popular camera manufacturer is the German camera makers “Leica” who make the highest quality 35mm film Camera in the World which so happens is probably the most expensive!
